PINE ABSOLUTE | Pure Plant Extract

  • $24.00

Pine absolute is extracted from the needles of Pinus sylvestris (also called Forest Pine, Norway Pine, Scotch Pine), a coniferous tree that grows across Europe.

The absolute is a thick, dark green liquid with a strong forest aroma

It is traditionally used in perfumery in forest blends, in cleaners, and to relieve bronchial and sinus congestion.

It blends well with beeswax, cypress, cedar, chamomile, cinnamon bark, clove bud, fenugreek, silver fir, geranium, hay, helichrysum, juniperberry, labdanum, lavender, licorice, mimosa, narcissus, oakmoss, opoponax, pachouli, poplar bud, clary sage, sandalwood, spruce, and vanilla.

Type: coniferous
Note: middle to base
Characteristics: fresh, strong, woody, resinous, balsamic
Subsidiary notes and nuances: sweet, terpenic, turpentine

Please understand that undiluted pine absolute is a solid mass at room temperature that must be slowly heated to become pourable. This product in undiluted form is highly recommended for experienced perfumers only or those who feel comfortable working with a solid mass that requires work to become useable.

Essential oils, absolutes, and other pure plant extracts should not be applied to the skin without being properly diluted in a cosmetic carrier (such as jojoba oil, ethanol, Epsom salts, etc.) Always patch-test when using an essential oil or absolute for the first time, and research whether or not the extract you are using is skin-safe and in what quantity or that it is appropriate for its intended use. Do not ingest essential oils or apply them internally, and avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and consult a knowledgeable health practitioner before use when pregnant or breastfeeding.
