Are you familiar with the secret Language of Flowers? Also known as floriography, this fantastical pastime was popularized during the Victorian age as a means to covertly express unspoken desires through the use of colourful stems and arrangements. 

Six strange fantasy florals—Black Bat Flower, Corpse Flower, Ghost Pipe, Skeleton Flower, Spider Lily, and Venus Flytrap—have been interpreted into individual perfumes meant to be mixed and matched to convey your unique intentions. Within their bold, unusual characters lies their strength; what makes them so unique, so valuable, so raw.

Notes: a loathsome bouquet of pungent animalia, softened by the scent of sifted soil from an lush and earthy greenhouse accord. Damp, dirty, and warm, defying convention with an overdose of musk, sweet resins, and sweat.

“Rest your weary head.” Rainwater staccatoes across the forest floor, bouncing playfully from waxen leaf to wet pools of soil below. The treeline sombers, hues of iris blue and periwinkle ushered across the clouded sky. Small spectral forms emerge from the ground, their frill-capped heads bowed as though solemn, sympathetic, or thankful. There’s a lush, vegetal cradle for you to rest, while the Pipes watch over and the earth transmutes your sorrow into blooms.

“I am clear in my intentions.” The sankayō (サンカヨ, lit. lotus of mountain), or skeleton flower, is native to the mountainous regions of Japan and the Russian Far East. Ethereal in appearance, its solid white petals turn ice-clear in the rain and morning dew, revealing a delicate vein-like structure underneath.

Its peculiar appearance–parts star, satellite dish, and spectral spider–might compel us to turn our ear skyward and stretch our senses like tentacles, feeling for the sea.

“Come to me.” Venus' Flytrap (Dionaea—"daughter of Dione", an epithet of Aphrodite, muscipula—"mouse/fly trap") is a sensitive, carnivorous plant native to the subtropical wetlands of north America. It secretes a nectar to lure and capture prey, turning hunter into hunted through sweet temptation.

Notes: sweet secretions with a sharp green bite. Bitter green freshness, the sting of barbed leaves, and brilliant, hot flashes of fuchsia. An indolic white floral heart and the warm, wet inside of a pleading mouth. A push and pull between tropical fruit dewiness and grassy wetland undertones. The sheen of nervous sweat.
