Some woodlands are verdant, lush, and green. Others are strewn with spindly shrubs and deciduous trees, their bare limbs sharp like spindles. The thin crescent of the overhanging moon cleaves pathways like a sickle through nightfall. Beneath a film of withered leaves rises the arcane essence of the earth and the woods, ancient and fragrant.
Scattered with berries and wet stone, the forest floor becomes a temple at which one prostrates themselves. Dry and mineral qualities contrast the scent of nutrient-rich soil; like dog-eared pages on an old novel, sun-bleached and papery bark folds back, revealing fresh green heartwood beneath.
Notes of: a moonlit path cleaved through dense woodlands. Baked earth, juniper berry, nutmeg and palo santo* on a grounding base of vetiver root, coffee bean, and smooth woods. An earthy, woody fragrance.
The Ritual: Oil perfumes compliment the wearer’s unique chemistry. Roll the desired amount on or around pulse-points (wrists, neckline, crook of the elbow etc). Re-application throughout the day serves as an intentional act of grounding through scent.
Featured Botanicals–or, how the magic happens: black pepper, juniper berry, nutmeg, coffee bean, cedarwood, palo santo fruit, pinewood, guaiacwood, sandalwood, ruh khus vetiver
*extracted from the fruit of the Bursera Graveolens tree
