Shoyeido's well-apportioned Miyako Sumi charcoals light easily and offer great versatility. Use with glazed ceramic Incense Bowls and White Ash. Wonderful for direct burning or the traditional Soradaki preparation of incense.

These incense charcoals, made from Japanese woods, primarily hinoki, offer a clean, slow burn with minimal smoke and no added scent. They burn at a lower temperature to preserve delicate aromas. Designed for incense chips, granules, and powdered incense. Each box contains 24 pieces (2.5 x 2.5 x 0.6 cm) of charcoal. Made in Japan.

About Shoyeido: In the early 18th century, Rokubei Moritsune Hata began incorporating incense-making techniques he learned as an employee of Kyoto's Imperial Palace. He would eventually introduce a new world of scent to an audience beyond the realm of royalty. Twelve generations later, the Hata family continues to create an amazing array of incense products.
