CEDARWOOD, BLOOD ESSENTIAL OIL | Pure Plant Extract
Pure Juniperus virginiana essential oil from the United States.
Blood cedar essential oil comes from a species of juniper (not a true cedar) called Juniperus virginiana (red cedar, eastern or southern red cedar, Virginian juniper, eastern juniper, or red juniper). It is a shrub or tree native to eastern North America from southeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and east of the Great Plains, and is important to many indigenous cultures. The oil is distilled from the reddish heartwood of the tree.
The oil is thin orange-yellow to reddish. It has an oily-woody and almost sweet, mild and pleasant, somewhat balsamic odour.
It is used in aromatherapy and the perfume industry for its uplifting scent, and in soap-making for its scent and reddish colour. In perfumery, it is a fixative.
It blends well with patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver, rosewood, bergamot, cypress, cassia, jasmine, juniper, neroli, labdanum, clary sage, rosemary, and ylang-ylang.
ASPECTS: woody · dry · mild
Presented in a 5ml or 15ml black glass bottle with a euro dropper.
