Vetiver (Chrysopogon or Vetiveria zizanioides), also known as vetivert, khus, or khus khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the Poaceae family, native to India. The grass has been used for hundreds of years for a wide variety of purposes, including perfumery, where it is traditionally used as a fixative. Vetiver processing was introduced to Haiti in the 1940s, and the oil from Haitian vetiver is highly sought after.
